SMILE 4 KIDS is an ENJOYABLE, INTERACTIVE, PRACTICAL speaking course, designed to make learning languages FUN for children.

Each course is for 1 year, with 3 terms in a year. It builds CONFIDENCE, as well as, VOCABULARY and encourages TEAMWORK skills.

Children learn through SONGS, GAMES and ROLEPLAY. In addition, they learn about India and its culture each week.

The course is designed to build CONFIDENCE, as well as, VOCABULARY.

This is a SPEAKING course only (No Reading and Writing).

It’s IMPERATIVE that parents work with/ look at the children’s learning each week.

Only by engaging in conversation with their child(ren) at home, will maximum results be achieved.

Baby/Toddler Class

Ages 6 months to 3 years old

This is an introductory course for babies and toddlers to enjoy learning to speak Punjabi / Hindi / Gujarati. Learning is through interactive songs, games and play.

Pre-School Class

Ages 3 to 5 years old


These classes are designed to introduce basics of speaking Punjabi / Hindi / Gujarati.

Junior Class

Ages 6 to 11 / 11 to 15 years old

These classes are designed to introduce basics and advanced level of speaking Punjabi / Hindi / Gujarati


The main aim of all these classes is, to enable children of all ages to communicate in their mother tongue.

COURSE STRUCTURE


There are 4 terms in total, with 11 weeks per term. The classes have a maximum of up to 10 students per teacher, per class. Learning includes a structured Syllabus and covers cultural topics based around India

The students only ‘homework’, will be to practice what they have learnt in the lesson. Students, can then use the words and phrases, with their parents and family at home, to gradually build up their vocabulary, each week.

At SMILE 4 KIDS, we do everything from finding suitable teachers, to ensuring the safety of your children. This allows students to learn in a pleasant, safe and exciting environment. All staff are DBS checked.

Important Notes


All staff working at SMILE 4 KIDS, have up to date, enhanced DBS checks and Child Protection training. There is always a First Aider/First Aid kit on site.

Learning to speak Punjabi, Hindi or Gujarati, requires parents engaging in conversation with their child(ren) during the week. In this way, learning can be reinforced and enhanced, step by step, each week.


SMILE 4 KIDS endeavours to practice progressive learning of spoken Punjabi, Hindi or Gujarati, so new topics will be covered, as learning progresses.

Photographing

Parents agree or oppose taking pictures of a child by completing the Application Form.

Drugs
and medicines

Drugs and medicines that can be bought at a pharmacy without a prescription not allowed on the school premises.

Mobile
phones

Students are not allowed to use mobile phones during lessons.

Neglecting
a child

Any signs that the child is hurt or that it is neglected, will be taken very seriously. In such a situation the school will stick to the guidelines contained in the government document: Working Together to Safeguard Children.

Alcohol
and substances

Drinking and having alcohol, smoking or having cigarettes through pupils are not allowed in school.

The student can be completely removed from the student list or suspended in student's rights for possession.

Food
and Drink

No food is allowed during lessons.Please do not send any food or snack with your child into the classroom. Only water is allowed to be consumed in lesson.

Internet safety

All internet used by children is overseen by members of staff. Pupils are not allowed to use their mobile phones during lesson time. Staff will ensure these are switched off during lesson time only. Members of staff will not have access/knowledge of any students mobile number or communicate with any student via any form of social media. No Photos or videos will be taken of students during the course unless teachers are given written permission by parents, on Initial application form on website.

SMILE 4 KIDS will not tolerate an form of violence or aggression against staff or any student.
